Love that photo on loyd's Empire Blog -

it reminds me of the one from the EMPIRE WAKE...when HOODLUMS draped the building in black, after even Loyd was evicted. The new owners carved up his customized love-Lair into tiny boxes. The Greedy bastards - ruined our fun! True Bummer - and the end of an era.
And we'd do it all again.... (humming) would we?

It's probably Mark Neuman holding the camera. He was frequently in cahoots with the vivacious instigator and former S*x Goddess of the Empire: Valerie Thiebeau. I'll never forget the work she put in for Loyd's um, 60 or 65 Birthday Roast - in which the answer to every wuestion was Who is Loyd Hubbard?

The One who remains Val's top henchman in any Empire-related caper, is Richard Meyer.
They wrote songs about former lovers, broken plumbing and roaches for birthday banquets.

The Dylan-style Birthday Video created by Rodger Shervey for Mark Neuman - brought those Empire Love Roasts to a new level of high art. Solo Songs performed by Geoff Seaman and Zac Reisner also were memorable that evening

Remember The Roach Halloween Costume? Good one, made by Mark Neuman. I found it all tattered, stuffed in the Empire dumpster one year, so I pulled it out and wore it to more Costume parties, until someone stole the head. That costume may still be out there somewhere...gross, smelly and terrorizing the squeamish. Empire Roaches never die.

Well, actually, I killed plenty while living there. Became expert at the light-on, pounce!
