Clean water in YOUR child's glass?
Who knows. Few places in the USA are as pristine as Oregon - with our Cascading waterfalls. Yet we fight tenaciously to protect the natural areas that naturally filter Portland's water.
Now the people who feel the need to speak out to call for intervention regarding serious threats to American's drinking water and ecosystems and those who know they should report criminal situations are themselves being silenced by the Bush administration. Make no mistake - the Bush League is covering up some serious sins.
NO public employee should fear loss of career from trying to DO their Job. Voters: This better bite back to dump some Bush Insiders this November. Shall we begin with Senator Conrad Burns of Montana? Ask the Cheyene People, whose water is being poisoned at an alarming rate by Coalbed Methane extraction methods...in a very fragile watershed. Geri Small, pictured top-right, is one of the people holding the line against Coal, with dignity. Her sister is also a significant leader in that arena of resource protection. Their Brother, Gary Small is my friend, and a wonderful musician and composer....winner of a recent Native American Music Award! I am proud of them all...and I pray that with their consent, I can someday offer meaningful help.
Silencing our nations best is no way to create a legacy. Remember - with our involvement, the Rule of Law, including checks and balances of a professional Civil Service, and an independant Judiciary - can work to protect us all. We must ensure that all have a voice. Where are the moderate Republicans who can restore sanity to their Party?
